CRAZY!

WHAT A DAY!!!  It has been such a crazy few hours that I couldn't not complain a little!  My day started out pretty good with my Mom's Lunch Group today.  I look forward to that time all week long.   It is a great way for me to get out of the house.  It went down hill from there.  I got home and rushed to get an application done so I could turn it in by 5 and I attempted to keep Alex happy and fed.  I then started on dinner which is where it got really bad.  I attempted to puree cooked cauliflower for a soup that I was trying and I ended up with VERY HOT CAULIFLOWER all over my kitchen!  I don't know why it exploded out of my blender but it not only got all over my kitchen but it also got on me.  I burnt my wrist!  OUCH!!

So all that is happening in my kitchen while Alex is fussing and wanting food and attention.  I was trying to keep a cold rag on my wrist and trying to keep him happy when I discovered that Alex had a HUGE POOP EXPLOSION!  This was the first really bad blow out he has had but it was all up his back....GROSS!!!

So I got Alex all cleaned up, I got my kitchen wiped down as best I could, and I salvaged my dinner and it was all worth it because I caught this picture on camera after all the craziness!
He started smiling last week but it has been pretty sporadic so I am going to really treasure this picture!

Valentine's Day

Celebrating this holiday is a little differen't when you have a baby, I've just realized!  We started out our day by going shopping during the awesome President's Day Weekend sales all over town.  We go amazing stuff at Walmart on their 50% of Clearance sales.  We also searched through the mall on clearance shelfs and found some amazing finds.

Since Mike and I are on a diet we were limited on what we could eat but we did pick up a couple of those really nice, big salads from Jack in the Box (I have gotten really tired of my sad salads at home) and I cooked up some yummy meat and we had our own little romantic meal at home.  We also rented a few movies, City of Ember and Traitor, which were both very good.

Of course Mike bought me some beautiful flowers!  What is Valentine's Day without those!!

Alex's Nursery

This is Alex's nursery.  Thanks to Walmart, I was able to put together a cute boy nursery in my price range.

Here is the bedding set I found at Walmart.  I love how very boy it is.

My changing table/dresser from Walmart.  When I’m not using it as a changing table, I can take off the pad on top and it is a great dresser.  There are three shelves behind the closed door as well.

I got this great frame idea from my friend, Jennifer, when she redid her bathroom.  These frames were at the Dollar Store and with some touch ups they were ready to go.  I took the sheets from the bedding set and scanned each picture that I wanted.  I printed them, cut them out and attached them to some scrapbook paper that I already had.  I then added some red letters just like on his bedding set.  I love how it matches his bedding set perfectly and brightens up our white walls.  The hardest thing about these frames was trying to figure out how to attach them to the wall.  They have Dollar Store quality hangings!

I made these Alex letters but haven't figured out a way to hang them on the wall yet.
I got this rug at Walmart.  I got it to go along with his bedding set.  Hopefully he will play with it when he gets a little older.

5 Weeks Old

Alex hit 5 weeks today!  I can't believe it has been that long.  Here are a few videos and pics Mike has taken.  They really aren't that entertaining to watch but it shows how much he has changed from the previous videos and pictures.

"HANDS UP WHERE I CAN SEE THEM!"

He looks like he is doing karate moves!
