Father's Day and Cars Hat

We didn't do anything particularly special for Father's Day this year except give Mike as much time off as we could.  This Mike and Alex all dressed up and ready to church.  Alex had a very ruff day and so this was the best picture we could get with him.
I did make a gift for Alex to give to Mike that morning.  Mike loves peanut M&Ms so I attached this M&M tag onto a 2 pound bag of M&Ms. I found this tag at Little Birdie Secrets.
I then found this cute pop cover at Oopsey Daisy that wraps around a pop can.
My favorite part is the Nutrition Facts!
Happy Father's Day Mike!  We love you!!
While I was at Walmart the other day I found this Cars hat.  Since buying it he has wanted to wear it all day long, including, nap time!  I also bought Cars pull-ups in hopes that he would get more excited about going potty in the toilet.   Cross your fingers!

Birthday week with Grams and Gramps

My birthday gift this year was to travel up to my mom and dad's house. Unfortunately, driving 8 hours by myself with a 2 year old isn't what I call fun!  My dad and I were able to surprise my mom with my visit and bring Alex to Grandma for her birthday gift.

Some of Alex's favorite activities with Grandma and Grandpa or as he likes to call them, Grams and Gramps:
1.  Reading car books with Grandma

Or go HERE to see video.

2.  Playing Grandma's space game

Or go HERE to see video.

3.  Riding in Grandpa's BIG RED TRUCK!
 4.  Going on a picnic in the mountains and watching the trains.
 5.  Playing his version of the Train Game.
 6.  Playing in Grams and Gramp's unfinished back yard in the dirt.
We decided while I was up there visiting we would celebrate our birthdays together.  My mom turned 50 and I turned 25 this year.  My mom's birthday is the day after mine and we've always disagreed about cakes.  I like white and she likes chocolate.  This year we both agreed a coconut cake would be best.  It was DELICIOUS and my new favorite cake.

Memorial Day

Mike and I started a tradition before Alex was born to go to the cemetery every Memorial Day and honor those who had given their lives for us in war.  We've been able to keep that tradition up with Alex and this year he got to help put flags on the graves.
Go HERE to see the video
He loved participating with this and only tried to take flags off other graves a few times!
