Hop 2 It

Except for the first 5 mins this was Alex's face the entire time we were at Hop 2 It.  He was really unsure about it at first and wanted nothing to do with all the noise in the room and air filled houses.

Once he discovered the little slide he was hooked!

AND he soon learned that he could fall and it didn't hurt.

He watched the older kids do this and wanted to do it so bad but he could barely lift the "sticks."
I climbed up to go down this slide and it is FAST!  I can't believe he went down it multiple times.

Picnic in the South Hills

The other day Mike was creative and came up with a wonderful family activity.  We got some food and headed up to the South Hills for a picnic.

We actually went to a camp ground that I had camped at with my own family several years ago.

Alex wanted to just rocks and sticks in the water.  Such a boy!
We weren't able to stay very long once the sun started to go down.  It got really cold FAST!
Alex was moving around so much I could barely get a picture or video with him looking at me.

Sir Alexander! Halloween 2010

Dress rehearsal went off without a hitch as long as he was able to play with the water in the sink.
As soon as I made him leave the sink...I got the grumpy face!  We're going to just say he was practicing to be a fierce knight!
Once he discovered that he got candy he was stoked!
He loved his shield bag and really enjoyed stuffing it with as much candy as he could.
Don't you LOVE the gold boots!  I think I should save them for next year and make him into Richard Simmons with Alex's belt as his head band!

He had fun attacking the leaves with his sword.

5 Year Anniversary!

Today is our 5 year anniversary!
I couldn't ask for a better husband and father to my son.
I love you Mike and thank you for the wonderful 5 years we've already shared and for the years to come!

If your going to smile, smile big!

I know everyone thinks their kids are the cutest but just look at that face....!
I found a large play tool kit at a yard sale and these work glasses are a favorite among the kids.
Alex hasn't had the best of luck this month with getting sick.  At the beginning of the month we all had Strep. Then he got a cold that got really bad and ended up with ear infections and  infection in his eyes and so on. This picture was taken in the middle of all of this.  I have such a little trooper.  Alex has his toddler moments but he is such a good and happy kid, even when he feels crummy!

Vacation at Grandma & Grandpa's House

My brother recently had to have back surgery and I offered to go up to my parent's house and help out while they were at work during the day. Alex absolutely loved his Grandparents and Uncle while he was there.
He quickly discovered that Grandma's cupboards don't have locks on them. This particular cupboard was a favorite and the spice drawers were a close second.
Each pan had it's own spot on the floor and of course he has to sit in one of them!
My parents have these wonderful decks off of their house. Alex loved to go out and watch the cars go by and try to talk with the kids. He also has no fear of the height of this top deck. These pictures are from the third story!

Just trying to pull off the Elton John look. Too bad he wasn't wearing a purple suit.
Chilling with mountain man uncle Jordan before bedtime. And yes his hands and face are orange from chips. I have a chip addict on my hands. He isn't used to them here but they are always at Grandma & Grandpa's.
We had to go to the park and play with Grandma.
He went down and up the slides,
swung on the swings,
climbed on the monkey bars, (I wish I could get my video's to upload to show you how he swings on the bars. Very cute!)
and of course plays with the sand.
Thanks Mom and Dad and Jordan. We had a blast while we were there. I know Alex misses the attention!

Sorry about the lack of posting.  We don't really go anywhere or do anything worth posting and it gets old to just post pictures of Alex.  Lately, we've been really sick.  Alex and I got Strep throat and Mike has been our nurse over the past couple of days.  Unfortunately, he had to work almost full time this week and I got stuck taking care of a grumpy but wild toddler and myself.  After getting antibiotics, Alex and I are slowly on the mend but now it seems like Mike has come down with it.  Hopefully we will be able to get through this without too much of a dent in our money!

On a happier note....here is some family pictures we got.  When we took Alex's one year pictures we received a $25 gift certificate.  So we pretty much got our family pictures for free.  (These are just the scanned images so the quality isn't perfect.)
Alex was so funny during the photo shoot.  He absolutely loved the photographer and was so excited to do anything she asked him too.
