We have a rolling little man!

We finally have a rolling little guy!  He has been working really hard at it for a few weeks now but he finally figured it out.  Now he wants to roll all time.  He still gets mad when he rolled to get a toy and still can't get the toy he rolled over for.  Now we need him to sit up and start crawling!  I guess when that happens, I'm going to wish he would just lay on a blanket.

This wasn't the first time he rolled over but every time he did it before I was out of the room.  This video makes you want to help roll him.  He gets so close so often.

University of Idaho Arboretum

Yesterday I went on a wonderful walk through the University of Idaho Arboretum.  It was so beautiful and made me really enjoy my walk.  I've never been all the way through it in the light.  I went once but it was pretty dark and you couldn't enjoy the colors as much.  I wish I would have taken advantage of this oasis for that last two years!

When I went to take a closer look at the lake I noticed the geese and their babies all in a line.  There were two sets of parents and babies and it was funny to see.  I kept thinking about the book I read to my Toddlers, The Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. White.

Next time I will have to take some bread to feed to them.  Too bad Alex isn't old enough to really enjoy them.

The arboretum was divided into sections including Europe, Eastern and Western North America, and Asia.  I think the Western North America was my favorite just because it felt like I was camping again.  The pine trees smelled so good and made me think of some of my childhood memories.

This was the view as I was leaving.  The lavender trees smelled amazing.

Eyring Get Together

This is the onsie that Jordan sent us from Florida.  Alex is finally big enough to wear it.

Playing at the Park in Milton Freewater
Jennifer and Tyler going down the slide...it was really fast but Tyler loved it!

This was Alex's first time on a swing.  He seemed to enyoy it.
Alex and Allie enjoying the swings.
Alex playing in the grass.  He just wanted to eat it.
All tuckered out!

Yard Sale Junkie

This is my amazing find from the other day. I got this jogging stroller for $20! I snatched it up so fast when I found out the price. I found other amazing finds that weekend as well. Several toys for .50 that would normally sell brand new for $10+. I am officially a garage sale junkie!!!

Laughing

This was the first time we could catch his laughing on camera. I would just turn and look at him and he would start laughing. We were in the car at the time so that explains all the background noise. I wish I would have thought to get the camera out sooner because he was laughing much harder.

I think Alex was saying here, "Mom, why do you keep pointing this thing at me!"

The Moms in my Life

I have to thank some of the mom's that are in my life.  First my own mom.  I owe a lot too how I am to her.  She has helped me develop so many of my talents as a mom and a wife.  She continues to help me with any questions that I have and reassures me when I'm not sure how to handle things.  I know that I can always turn to her with any needs that I have and she is always willing to help.  She has also taught me how to serve those around me.  Growing up I always saw her give of her time and talents to those around her.  I love my mother very much and I can't imagine someone more fitted to be my mom!
Another mother I owe a lot too is my mother-in-law.  She had such an influence on how Mike was raised and the values that he holds.  She is one of the most giving and unselfish person I know.  She always strives to help and make those around her happy.  I am so grateful for her and all that she has done in our lives.
Thank you both for being such an example of motherhood and being the best mom we could ask for!
This was the gift Alex (aka Mike) got for me this year.  It was 18 roses.  I'm so spoiled!

Baby Shower Gift

Here is the gift I made for Lacy's Shower.  I forgot to take a picture of it before I wrapped it up so this was after she opened it up.  I made the blanket out of leftover fleece.  I only messed up a few times but I'm getting much better at fixing my mistakes.  I thought the blanket turned out pretty good.
I cut the small squares 3x3 and the large squares 5.5x5.5.  Sew the 4 small squares into square before sewing the rest together.  I backed the quilt with fleece which helps hide the seams from the fleece.  It was a great way to use up some scraps that I had.  The only thing I had to buy was the piece for the back which was even on sale this week.

4 Months Old

Alex had his 4 month doctor's appointment the other day.  He was 14lbs 12 oz and 26 1/4 inches long.  He is still 50% for weight but is almost to 75% for height.  Hopefully he will get Mike's height.  I can't believe he is already that old.  It still feels like I just had him a month ago.  His newest skill is putting everything in his mouth.  Sometimes he can get toys to his mouth but usually it is his fists.  The video is long and nothing really happens but I think the ending is funny and it shows you what he can finally do.  He was concentrating so hard it was showing in his feet.
