Seattle, WA!!!

Seattle was amazing and I'm so glad my friend Mandy decided to go and take me with her. Of course we started our trip by hitting some Outlet stores on the way. We can't go to the city and not go shopping!
We checked into our hotel and then headed on our way to a Seattle Mariners Game. Of course we got our tickets from scalpers for cheap and got into the 26th row behind home plate.
It was very exciting and we really got into the game. Of course Alex took a nap right in the middle of the game. With all the noise, I have no clue how he did it.
Going to the game was one of Mandy's dreams so it made it that much more exciting to go. Ivan also had a blast! Alex wasn't so sure of the noise when a home run was hit. It scared him just a little.
Just a few snap shots after the game cleared out.
The next morning we headed to Pike Place Market which is a GIANT Farmers market. It was amazing and a really fun atmosphere to be in. They actually throw the fish around when you order it! It was packed with people and Alex constantly stopped foot traffic. He would flash his smile out and several people would stop and start talking with him. He loved the attention.
The snake was the only thing that I got at the market and Alex dropped it on the floor and I didn't notice. I was really disappointed. It was going to make a great teething toy.
Taking a little break!
Outside the Market
Alex did some of this on our trip. I'm glad that he was still able to sleep even though it was noisy and we were constantly moving around.
This is us waiting for the "train" to the Space Needle
Can you tell how tired Alex was? He could care less that we were riding the "train" as Ivan put it.
Taking a little break under the space needle for a much needed rest for parents and kids alike!
THE SPACE NEEDLE!!! We didn't go up in it but just being outside it was pretty cool.
I was hoping the bird would help inspire him to crawl. No such luck.
We went back to the waterfront after the space needle but this was the extent of the aquarium viewing. There were some fish in this large tank off of the large aquarium.
Alex enjoyed it anyways!
On our way home we stopped by the Seattle, WA temple. It was surrounded by pine trees and plants everywhere. It was beautiful. I wish it wasn't so dark by the time we got there.
We had an amazing trip and I'm so glad that I went. Thanks Mandy for taking me!

Where oh where have I been!

I'll give you one hint: rain jackets......
More to come but first I have to get ready for my yard sale tomorrow at 7:30 in front of the U of I Child Care Center. I hope to see all of you there. Out of state is not a good enough excuse!

Twin Falls Trip

I had the opportunity to go to Twin Falls this past weekend for a quick trip. While I was there I went to my best friend's wedding from high school. I was so glad that I had the opportunity to see her get married.
This was the first time that I had seen the Twin Falls temple. It was so beautiful and a perfect day. I wish they had it while I lived in Twin.
Hal and Sarah Congratulations!

While I was at the temple my parents were my babysitters for Alex. When I got back this is what I came back too! It was a very long and tiring trip fro Alex so this made me happy to find him asleep. I guess he was asleep the entire time I was gone.
Friday night we went and played at the hotel's pool. This was the first time Alex had ever done this and he really enjoyed it. There were a lot of people and it was really loud so I'm sure that helped distract him.
I wish we had a pool that Alex could go into more often. He didn't even mind when he drank a couple mouth fulls of water when I wasn't paying attention!
On Saturday we went to my mom's family reunion. Alex got a lot of attention and even made a new friend. (something was weird with the camera so some of the pictures are making us glow. That wasn't are natural appearance that day!)

My mom's mom and siblings and their spouses.
My family: my parents, my brother Garrett, his wife, Jennifer and their son Tyler.
Alex getting some Grandma time.
Taking a ride in the dump truck. He wasn't so sure of this.

It has been slow

I've had a really slow last couple of weeks. Here is a few updates.
I was able to finally get Alex out of his swaddle. WAHOO!!! Just in time for the hot summer months! I love swaddling but I think Alex got a point where it wasn't helping anymore. Plus he was getting way to hot in the blankets.
The video is long and not that interesting. But I needed to post something, right?
We started feeding Alex his rice and he does pretty good. His newest thing is to stick his hand in his mouth as soon as there is food. This makes it hard to get food down him but we still try anyway!

Under Construction

So I haven't been very happy with my blog lately.  I had something weird on it that wouldn't allow me to post a customized header.  After a week of trying different things, the only thing I could figure out that worked was to start a brand new blog, export all of my old posts and start fresh.  It really hasn't been too difficult except it didn't keep my list of friends.  I will try and get everyone back on my blog but if you see that I haven't added you PLEASE write me a comment.  It isn't because I don't want you on my list.
